AI for video editors that finds clients not just edits.
You already use AI inside the timeline — auto-captions, rotoscoping, upscaling. Orty points AI at the part of freelancing that actually decides your income: finding and qualifying the clients worth pitching.
It's a Windows desktop app that scores how well a prospect fits your editing style, drafts cold emails grounded in your rate card, and tracks every lead in a local CRM. Your screenshots stay on your machine.
What an AI outreach assistant actually does for an editor
Generic AI chat tools give you a blank box. An outreach assistant built for editors gives you a workflow:
- Scores the fit — drop a prospect's profile screenshot and get a 1–10 rating on how well their content matches your saved portfolio, with plain-English reasoning you can argue with.
- Drafts the pitch — Co-Pilot writes a cold email that references what the prospect actually posts and quotes your rate card — it will not invent a price, a promise, or a testimonial.
- Remembers everyone — every scored lead lands in a 7-stage pipeline with notes, budget fields, and follow-up dates, instead of dying in a DM inbox.
- Explains the silence — Outreach Diagnostics reads your own results and flags patterns like high scores going unanswered, so you fix the pitch instead of guessing.
Where Orty's AI deliberately draws lines
Most “AI sales tools” automate volume. That's exactly what gets freelance editors marked as spam — and worse, it burns creators you might actually want to work with. Orty takes the opposite position:
- No scraping — Orty analyzes only what you hand it: a screenshot, a bio, a pasted link. It never crawls profiles or harvests emails behind your back.
- No bulk automation — emails go out one at a time because you reviewed them. There is no blast mode, no inbox rotation, no fake follow-up bots.
- No invented numbers — the drafting model is constrained to your rate card. If you charge $450 for a 30-second edit, no draft will ever quote $200 to win the deal.
- No hidden AI markup — you connect your own free API keys (Groq for writing, Gemini for reading screenshots). Orty charges nothing per generation — there's nothing to mark up.
The stack under the hood
Two specialized models do the work, chosen because their free tiers genuinely cover a freelancer's volume: Gemini's vision API reads profile screenshots during lead rating (roughly a thousand free generations a day on Groq covers Co-Pilot drafting). Pro users can swap in five other chat providers — OpenRouter, Cerebras, Together AI, Mistral, or OpenAI — without changing anything else.
The sensitive parts don't use AI at all. Outreach Diagnostics, Personal Insights, and goal tracking run on plain local code reading your own CRM — which is why they work offline and why they'd never need to phone home even if you let them.
Why local-first matters when the product touches client work
Cloud sales tools copy your entire prospect list into their database — then their AI trains on it, their employees can query it, and their breach becomes yours. Orty keeps leads, drafts, screenshots, and results in your Windows user folder. When you trigger a rating, the screenshot goes directly from your machine to Google's API using your key. There is no Orty server in the middle, because there is no Orty server.
Telemetry exists but is off by default and anonymous when enabled — and Trust Settings → View My Data lets you verify every byte the app holds, any time.
